Travel guide myself
This is my personal experiences with the travel to Sabah,
Sandakan. The flight procedure, the steps and all the things I did in the
airports.
Generally, the procedures are almost the same for every
airports. It mostly depends on,
1.
>>If you are checking in your baggage. ( This
means your luggage are under the airport responsibility ; because it is not
carried on your hands into the cabin)
2. >>If you are locals ( travelling domestically or
internationally)
3.
>>If you are foreigner (travelling domestically or
internationally)
Take my flight from Senai
Airport Johor to Kota Kinabalu
Airport Sabah and then to Sandakan
Airport Sabah as example,
Check-in yourself >>> Check-in your
baggage >>> security check >>> Proceeding to
boarding gate >>> Boarding
In Senai Airport
a.
Check-in myself
by “online check-in” in airasia check-in service in 14 days to 1 hour before
flight.
b.
Getting my
boarding pass( ticket) and print it out instantly.
* Other ways
include printing boarding pass in airport( Kiosk machine that ask for your booking no.( you
have your booking no. in the travel itinerary)
* Paying 10
MYR for a checking-in service in the check-in counter and get a boarding pass.
c.
I don’t have any
checked baggage. So, I will be more
helpful to those without checked baggage.
d.
Now proceed to
the baggage security check. You will see the ‘Departure” sign board, this
entrance is just behind the MPH bookstore and just beside a clock & watch
store. Let the guard check your boarding pass and your IC. Your baggage will be
passed through an X-ray scanning machine. You might be asked to leave your
phone and any electrical gadgets in the machine. You will then enter a special door
which might be alarmed if you have any metal/electrical gadget with you. You
might be asked for a thorough body check too.
e.
Before you so upstairs,
you will be have your tickets checked again, weight your baggage.
f.
Upstairs, you
will see seats and tv screens with boarding gate no. you will have to go to.
Listen closely to the announcement and go the boarding gate as fast as possible
so that you can skip the queue.
g.
Have your ticket
checked again and then follow the way to your plane.
In Kota Kinabalu Airport
a.
I think this is
the hardest part, okay, now , follow the crowd to the “landing” kind of room.
b.
Look for the
counter “ Malaysian passport” , by convention, it will be a long queue with
chaotic atmosphere as the room is considerably small.
c.
Prepare your IC
to be checked. Boarding pass is not checked here.
d.
Look for the “Keluar”
sign board and welcome to the 2nd airport, Kota Kinabalu airport.
e.
You should now
get ready for the continuous flight from KK to Sandakan. Always check on the tv
screen and compare it with your flight no. Notice when you can check in.
f.
Go for the “Departure”
station again, and have your baggage a security checked again. The station is
in the far left end of the airport.
g.
Go and have your
IC and boarding pass checked. This is done at a counter stated” Sandakan”.
h.
Then you are at a
restroom with lots of seats. Wait for the same announcement as in Senai Airport
for your gate no.
In Sandakan Airport
a.
Just follow the
crowd and look for the “Exit” sign board.
b.
Welcome to
Sandakan.
